Aims and Objectives

The job of Morecambe Town Council is to represent the interests of the whole community. It is an important role of the elected Councillors to find out the needs of different groups in the community. They do this through their involvement in a range of local groups, direct contact with local people and consultations with the local community of Morecambe.

There are 26 Councillors who cover the area and 2 members of staff.

The Council is developing a Strategic Plan with the overall aim

To enhance and improve Morecambe as an attractive, safe and sustainable place in which to live, visit and to do business.

 

The main priorities of Morecambe Town Council are to:

  • Support residents and community & voluntary groups including Youth Engagement
  • Develop a prosperous business community (including the tourism sector and Festivals and Events)
  • Protect and enhance the environment
  • Community Safety
  • Improve the Council and its communication
